Take Your Game To The Next Level With The Rising
Topic: Bowling Balls » Track » The Rising
Posted on Tuesday April 1st @ 3:46 PM
HOPKINSVILLE, Kent. The most powerful combination of core and cover from Track to date, The Rising will take your game to the next level.

The Rising is truly the birth of a new ball design for the entire industry, said Paul Figliomeni, Track brand manager. Its unique properties give the ball the most aggressive performance and the most versatile drilling options of any ball on the market from any manufacturer.

With an RG of 2.50, The Rising boasts the highest intermediate differential of any ball ever made (0.031) and the largest volume single density core in production (over 7 pounds). The balls unique motions are courtesy of its HP GEN 1 veneer and new, low top weight (1.75 ounces) Mega Tron core shape.

Whats more, The Rising has opened the door to a whole new realm of drilling possibilities. Because the Mass Bias can be placed anywhere on the balls 360 degree axis unaffected by the location of the CG, The Rising can be drilled one way for skid/flip like no other ball. Drilled conventionally, The Rising gives controlled, aggressive hook.

  Track Unveils Kinetic Energy
Topic: Bowling Balls » Track » Kinetic Energy

HOPKINSVILLE, Kent. The Track brand has continued its upward trajectory with the release of the new Kinetic Energy, a powerful ball introduction designed to be the perfect complement to the Kinetic.

Kinetic Energy is truly an extension of the Kinetic as its meticulously developed new coverstock allows it be a little sooner in the front of the lane while maintaining energy in the backend, said Track brand manager Paul Figliomeni. Kinetic Energy is the ideal ball for bowlers who need a sooner reaction than Kinetic without sacrificing hitting power.

With identical core numbers as the Kinetics Shuttle core (2.49 RG and 0.040 Diff. 16# ball), Kinetic Energy showcases Tracks brand new UMP Gen 2 coverstock, hence the driving force behind the balls earlier reaction. Polished with 2000-grit Abralon, Kinetic Energy outperforms all the rest in medium to heavy oil. In Navy/Orange, Kinetic Energy is available now in 12 16 pounds.

  DUKE DELIVERS AGAIN
Topic: Bowling Balls » Storm
Posted on Tuesday April 1st @ 3:40 PM
For the second consecutive year, Storm staffer Norm Duke defeated fellow staffer Ryan Shafer to a win a title at Woodland Bowl, but this one meant so much more.

Duke, who came into the week on the verge of losing his Denny’s PBA Tour exemption, defeated Shafer, 202-165, to win the Denny’s World Championship for his third career Major and 27th title overall.

Three out of the four players on the telecast were Storm staff members, including Storm International amateur Andrew Frawley.

The win gives Duke a much-needed two-season Tour exemption. The veteran has struggled through various injuries this season and came into the week 51st in the PBA World Point Rankings with just five events remaining. The top 39 via the point rankings earn exemptions at season’s end.

Suffering from the flu all week, Duke showed his usual flair for the dramatic, gutting it out to advance to the final round, which moved him up to 37th in the point rankings. His win, however, means he doesn’t have to worry about points for the next two years.

“The number of times I thought about pulling out of this event and now to see myself sitting here with another Major title and $50,000 and all the things that come with a Major, I just can’t believe it. I’m shocked,” Duke (Clermont, Fla.) said. “This was the most painful flu I’ve ever had. Bowling this week was not fun. I really wanted to quit but every time I would go back and lay down I felt miserable so I thought, ‘I’m going to be miserable either way. I may as well bowl.’"

Duke used a Storm Secret Agent and Paradigm Passion on the telecast, while Shafer used a Storm Rapid Fire.

Posted on Tuesday April 1st @ 3:34 PM
HOPKINSVILLE, Kent.—Once again the Black Widow has solidified its reputation as a deadly competitor and unstoppable force on the lanes, no matter the conditions!

On March 4, Hammerhead Andy Vanostrand rolled a high series of 895 (296-299-300) with his brand new Black Widow ball at the South Florida Masters’ TRIO league at Strikers Family SportsCenter in Sunrise, Fla. The ball has just been drilled at the Precision Pro Shop in Boca Raton, Fla., before the competition that night.

“It was an amazing feeling,” said Vanostrand. “The Black Widow navigates the lanes well and hits the pins with a lot of energy left. I just kept thinking ‘one shot at a time’.”

Vanostrand has bowled with Hammer for years and rolled a previous high series of 863 in March 2004. He has been a member of the TRIO league for five years, where his current average is 228. He has also been a member of the bowling center’s Mixed Nuts league for eight years.

HOPKINSVILLE, Kent. – Using a Hammer Cherry Vibe, eleven-year-old Aaron Ruiz smashed his way into the record books at Hermitage Lanes in Nashville, Tenn., on January 5 by becoming the youngest bowler in the state to roll a 300 game. Ruiz dominated the lanes and also cinched a high series of 668.
